Volunteering

There are many ways in which you can volunteer at Bradford Cathedral to make the building welcoming, attractive for visitors and support the music-making and ministry.

We have a variety of volunteering opportunities including flower arranging, welcoming, being part of the verging or serving teams, cleaning, gardening and being a member of our choir.

We are seeking to recruit and train new bell ringers so we have a full band. Once again the bells will be heard across the city again, announcing our presence to all, and the tradition of change ringing in Bradford will be preserved.

Why Volunteer?

Volunteers support the work of our paid staff to enhance the daily life of the Cathedral which would be impossible without their help. It gives people an opportunity to serve God and their community, make friends, and learn new skills.

Meeting new people, talking with people from different cultures or simply getting out of the house -  are just some of the reasons given when we asked our Volunteers why they gave up their time to come into the Cathedral. Volunteering here with us gives you the opportunity to make new friends and gain real work experience to enhance your CV if you need it.

All we ask is a minimum of three hours per month, but if you wished to do more we would certainly welcome that.

If you wish to get in touch directly to talk about volunteering here at the Cathedral do get in touch with our Coordinator of Volunteers on volunteers@bradfordcathedral.org or call 01274 777720.
